This painting brings back memories of fishing on the shores of Madison Lake to many families. The old bridge was so named in memory of the Buckmaster family who are listed as residents of the area in 1893. Their property was adjacent to the bridge along the east side of now highway 48.

Local life long residents tell of the Buckmaster family having an open well to the south of their house, which produced the typhoid that killed 7 of their 14 children.
